Period Problems

The period can be like a tempestuous wind, strong and unpredictable, and capable of leaving one feeling weary and fatigued at times. At KI, we manage a range of Period issues. We are equipped with the latest medical devices and surgical protocols to help us alleviate your symptoms and enable you to feel healed again.

Period problems we solve at KI include:

  • Menorrhagia: Heavy periods with clots and needing more than the usual amounts of pads and tampons. Often leaves you feeling tired and battered.
  • Dysmenorrhoea: Very painful periods that make you fear having the next period, and affects your work and social life regularly. Occasionally you may even experience near fainting spells.
  • Intermenstrual Bleeding: Periods that happen twice a month and gets you so confused regarding your cycle timings! This could be due lumps growing in your womb, infections or could be a form of hormonal imbalance.
  • Post coital Bleeding: Bleeding that happens after sex. This could be due to a cervical lump or some infection that can be easily sorted out by us.
  • Irregular menstrual cycles: Periods that are all over the place, where you can go for months without a period or where it seems you are forever on your period! This can be due to hormonal imbalances or something that can be easily sorted out with a gentle washing of the inner womb lining.
  • Menopause: Well this is not a problem at all! As long as you are of the right age and not having any debilitating menopausal symptoms, you are fine and in the clear! However, if you find yourself with bladder issues, incontinence, dryness below, mood imbalances, insomnia, excessive hot flushes and night sweats, we have a range of medical therapeutics to help you get the relief you deserve.

Pelvic Pains

The pelvis contains a number of organs that can cause immense pains if affected.

Here at Ki, we perform gynaecological surgeries ranging laparoscopic ovarian cyst removal (cystectomy), fibroid removal (myomectomy), uterus removal (hysterectomy), hysteroscopic resection of womb polyps, D&Cs (washing of the womb lining), and many more.

It all starts with a friendly and thorough consult with us. We will go through your entire medical history and perform a complete physical examination, followed by specific scans and bloodwork tailored to you own unique condition. What follows is then a discussion regarding the best and safest way to help you achieve full healing again, using the safest and least invasive methods available.

Pelvic Pain issues we solve at Ki include:

  • Ovarian Cysts: Large bubbles of fluid in your ovaries that can burst or twist and cause deep discomfort or even fertility issues.
  • Fibroids: Muscle tumours in your uterus that are usually very silent until they start pressing on your bladder or on your rectum, causing a variety of symptoms. They can grow big enough to also cause very heavy periods as well.
  • Pelvic Inflammatory Disease: Infection in the pelvis can cause inflammation and chronic pelvic pains. This can be sorted out through comprehensive swabs and specific antibiotic therapy.
  • Ectopic pregnancy: When a pregnancy occurs outside the womb and in the tubes of the womb instead. This is an emergency and needs to be operated as soon as it is diagnosed.
  • Cystitis: A severe bladder infection can make one miserable with pain. This can be investigated with a bladder test and scans and a suitable medication to bring immediate relief.

ENDOMETRIOSIS Medical Grapevine Asia

What is Endometriosis and what causes it? Every month, a woman’s ovaries produce hormones that tell the lining of the womb to get thicker. The womb (uterus) then sheds these cells (called endometrial cells) along with blood and tissue through the vagina when a woman has her period. Endometriosis occurs when these endometrial cells grow outside the uterus in other parts of the body.
