Trying fora baby?

A clear fertility assessment for both partners, with treatment from simple medication to IUI and keyhole surgery.

A couple holding hands across a table beside two cups of tea

Your first fertility visit covers a detailed history and examination for both of you. From there, Dr Dharsh suggests tests chosen for your situation.

When to seek help: after more than 12 months of trying if you are under 35, or more than 6 months if you are 35 or older. Come sooner if your periods are irregular or you have a known condition.

How IUI works

Intrauterine insemination places prepared sperm directly into the womb at the right moment.

Monitor

Scans track the follicles in which your eggs develop until ovulation is close.

Time

An injection helps time ovulation.

Inseminate

Your partner's sperm, prepared in the lab, is placed in the womb with a fine, soft tube.

Wait

Hormone support may be given, and a pregnancy test follows about two weeks later.

Fertility issues we manage

Vaginismus

Involuntary tightening that makes sex or examinations difficult. Treated gently with vaginal dilators and guidance, taught privately in the clinic.

Not ovulating

For some women, a tablet to help ovulation may be enough.

Womb lining polyps

Removed with a short hysteroscopic procedure.

Ovarian cysts and endometriosis

Laparoscopic removal of cysts and adhesions, with medical options afterwards if you are not trying to conceive straight away.

Unexplained difficulty

Tests for both partners to find the cause and the right next step.

Common questions

Does my partner need to be tested too?
Yes. Fertility is assessed for both partners, usually including a semen analysis.
Is IUI painful?
Most women find it similar to a smear test: brief, with mild discomfort for some.
What if IUI is not right for us?
If more advanced treatment such as IVF is needed, Dr Dharsh will guide you to the right next step.

Let's take the next step together.
